If you want to look like a local in Paris, choose classic cardigans and striped bretons, silk shirts, white sneakers, ankle boots, small floral prints, small crossbody bags, jeans, and flowy dresses. Stay away from tight clothing (aside from jeans), flashy logos, and high heels (especially stilettos), all of which scream “tourist.” Many of the clothes I wore while living in Paris were purchased at home in the US. You probably have plenty of items in your closet that would serve you well on a trip to Paris.
